It is one of the finest examples of the pristine white Neo-Gothic architecture in Goa, built-in 1873, and houses the miraculous statue of Mae De Deus (Mother of God), brought from the ruins of the convent of Mae De Deus at old GoaWith its Gothic spires and spick and span white walls, it reminds one of a fairytale castle or a wedding cake.Do check the church opening hours beforehand as it is not open every time. We reached there around 11 AM and found it closed. So, stick to the timings for this one.Situated amidst scenic surroundings of the typical Goan countryside, Saligao, and is attractively illuminated at night.
