Basilica of Bom Jesus

It is one of the oldest church of Goa, built-in 16th century, located in Old Goa, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old building speaks for itself, has a baroque architecture which remains a visual art.
The richly gilded altar has the figure of the infant Jesus and a large statue of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the order of Jesuits. The chapel houses the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, viewed once every 10 years.
